Sports Exercise : Intensity Matters
No time for sports? You should stop using that excuse for your weight problems.Sports are essential, not only for your weight problems but on your overall health, especially cardio-related issues.
Research conducted by experts from the Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, Massachusetts, for five years, published in Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association, reveals that sports, regardless how long or how short it is done, can still be beneficial for your heart.
How is it possible? It is the intensity of the exercise that matters. This means that walking for 15 minutes four times a week is healthier than walk for an hour once a week.
Of course, this is a very good news, especially for beginners and professionals who don't have enough extra time to do sports. You don't need to do an intense exercise for 45 minutes. Fifteen minutes, as long as it is done on a consistent, routine basis will still be beneficial to your heart according to Dr. Howard D. Sesso, one of the researchers.
Another thing to not, is the number of calories burned during the sports exercise. The number of calories burned is very significant to lower the risk of a heart disease. The research revealed that men who burn 4,400 of calories per week, will have the risk of having a heart disease decreased to 44%, compared to those who only burned 1,100 calories per week.
Now, how many calories have you burned this week?
